Case's 7th Birthday

Case turned 7 and I can't believe it! He is the first kid to have a birthday but in the next 2 months all the other kids will follow and we will soon be on the odd years for birthdays at 11, 9, 7 & 5! He got a new fishing pole for the boys upcoming fishing trip and an alarm clock and hydroflask from us.
All three boys had baseball games so after the game we went to Mill Creek Brew Pub because Case wanted ribs for his birthday. All the grandparents were there so that made it extra special.
Finally at 9:00 that night we sang him happy birthday and the kids had cake.

Case and Papa (their birthdays are only one day apart).

Case has had an amazing year in kindergarten. His teacher (Ms. Thomas) has been fabulous and he is known at Berney as the fastest and friendliest boy in kinder. He is friends with everyone and everywhere he goes people are always yelling his name. It is always amazing to me how each of my boys are completely different and Case is no exception.  He is quick and emotional and loves hard and fights hard. He gives me the best kisses and hugs and often times wants me to carry him to bed an snuggle with him.  He loves anything athletic, fishing, hunting and playing with his siblings. He has a very special bond with Colbi which is a revolving door of loving and screaming at each other but it is sweet all the same.  I am so lucky to be his mom and I love him so so much. I hope he always knows that he is so loved by his family.  Happy 7th Birthday Case Michael!!!

Spring Ramblings

Spring is here and the weather has been so amazing!  Longer daylight hours means more time for outside projects (like putting in a sprinkler system, grass and flower beds - these kids worked so hard helping us!), baseball games, exploring all our property has to offer and staying up way too late (summer come quick!).
Turkey season came and these boys were up bright and early with their dad.
We put in an entire sprinkler system, flower beds and grass seed with the help of these kids. They are awesome.
Our awesome work crew.
She might be surrounded by boys but she has a little girl in her too.
Colt playing center field.
He had such a great baseball season this year, he really came alive in his hitting and ended up getting moved to starting 3rd base half way through the season and did awesome.
Case played his first year of minor league baseball and got to play on the same team as Jax. He is the youngest but also fastest kid on the team and works so hard.
Jax LOVES baseball and takes it very seriously, he played all over this year but had a lot of success hitting and has gained so much confidence. He is hoping to make the majors team next year and play with Colt.
Jax and Case warming up.
Camryn asked me to run her Girls on the Run 5k with her. It was so much fun and she was awesome.
I loved being able to share something I love with my niece.

Christmas 2017

Dave had to work Christmas Eve so the kids and I went to church in Walla Walla that morning and then drove over and stopped at the station to see Dave before going over to his parents house.

The kids love visiting the firehouse and no matter how often I go they always want to do and see the same things.  Jax was engrossed in the Seahawks game inside the station so he was not around for picture but was there.

We went to Christmas Eve service with all the Pemberton family and then came back to Popee and Memah's for appetizers and a few presents.
 10 Cousins ages 7 months - 10 years
We also did our traditional acting out of the Christmas story complete with awesome costumes. This is always one of my favorite part of Christmas and it never fails to make everyone laugh and have fun.

Cousins sorting Jax's new football cards.
Case was pretty excited for his new basketball.
We stayed up till 1am on Christmas Eve so we had a little later start to our morning, we had to wait for Dave to get off work so when he got back to the house around 8:30 the kids opened their stockings.
Then everyone else showed up and we had breakfast and spent the next 3 hours drinking coffee and slowly opening presents taking breaks so the kids could play with their toys and the adults laughed and talked. It was a pretty perfect Christmas morning.
 The girls.
 The boys.

Julie crocheted this new blanket for the window seat in our new house. I am in love with it and the colors! It will be perfect.
Mike and Julie had this sign made up for our gate (Taylor designed the logo using our Outfitters logo).

We were lucky enough to get a white Christmas so after presents we headed outside to sled down the hill next to Dave's parents house. It was a beautiful day to get outside and have fun.

After the kids were tired of sledding we came back inside for crafts and....
 ....BINGO with Popee.
Later that evening we had a really yummy Christmas dinner and stayed up fairly late again playing games and having fun. It was such a fun Christmas and so nice to be with everyone.
We came back to Walla Walla the day after Christmas to more snow. I took the kids out to the property and went sledding. Now that Christmas is over we still have another 12 days left before we go back to school!

Colt Berney Bulldog of the Month

Colt received the Berney Bulldog of the Month award for the 4th grade this month.  I was pretty impressed considering he is the new kid in the school. It was a cute program they did and he was pretty happy. I think the cutest part was seeing how excited his brothers were for him.
Colt with his principal Mrs. Carpenter (who is the type of principal they write about in kids storybooks but you never actually believe they exist- we are so lucky!).

December Happenings

Colbi had her Christmas program at Mustard Seed. I love their holiday program, it is so sweet and the kids do such a great job.
We picked out our Charlie Brown Christmas tree.
I love the kids faces, Dave was saying something funny and they just thought he was hilarious.
Unfortunately we got home and decorated the tree and it fell over breaking ornaments while decorating, most of Colt's ornaments broke and he was devastated. A lot of them he has had since he was little and he had such fun every Christmas pulling them out and asking me about the memory behind each ornament.  I felt so bad for him, we got it straightened back out and only put the non-breakable ornaments on it for this year. Next year when we are in our house we will get a beautiful (but fake) tree and decorate it all up.

We went downtown to the Christmas Lights Parade and warmed up after with hot chocolate from Starbucks.
Jax had to make an ornament for his class ornament exchange. He wanted Seahawk colors, I tried so bad to buy one because I am terrible at this type of stuff. I finally got on Pinterest and searched easy Christmas ornaments. A quick trip to Wal-Mart for ribbon and done. He really liked it.
