Blueberry Picking

We met Dave's mom, Kenzie, Katie, Randee and Camryn at this organic blueberry farm in Burbank to pick some blueberries. We made the mistake of waiting until 1:00 to pick them and it was close to 100 degrees out!
The kids pretty much just ate every blueberry they picked!
We still got a fair amount of berries and they are soooo yummy! We have been eating them on top of everything and they are great just out of the freezer on a hot day.
I could not leave Jax out of this post, he spent the entire time in the shade in his stroller sleeping.
After 30 minutes we decided we better leave. Colt's face was bright red because he was so hot and all of us were sweating because of the heat.

Right now the boys are......

Eating bananas with cool whip after just waking up from a good long nap!
"Cheese mommy!"
He loved this snack!! Pretty healthy too.
..........and surprise surprise Jax is sleeping........
..... and he also has a question:)
We have been doing a whole lot of nothing this week but it has been fantastic!! We wake up around 7 (Colt is finally sleeping well again), go for a run with BOB (my new best friend), eat breakfast (Colt has been on an oatmeal with blueberries kick this week), do a morning activity (run errands, go to the park, go to the library for storytime), eat lunch, take a nap (and yes I do mean all 3 of us take a nap), wake up and have a small snack and then work with Colt on his letters (Dave's mom got him the coolest letter cards for Christmas and he is really into them right now, he asks me all day long if we can "play letters"), make dinner, eat around 5:30 or 6 depending when Dave gets home and then spend the evening together as a family. It has truly been PERFECT!!! Well now that I write all that it doesn't sound like nothing, I guess what I meant was we are just doing our own thing, no plans or anywhere we have to be. Love it!!!

Just Jax

He is getting chubby!!!!!
He smiled today for the first time, it made my heart melt!

Colt just loves.....

..........getting dirty!!
It is impossible to keep this kid clean even for a minute right now. With the weather being so nice and us being outside so much he is into everything.
On our way back from Lynden we stopped in Kennewick to have dinner with Dave's family. Colt and Camryn had fun swimming, picking raspberries and...........
..........eating ice cream!
Notice how much cleaner Camryn looks than Colt!

4th of July

Our 4th of July this year was very laid back and relaxing which is exactly what I wanted! We have been going non-stop so it was nice to just relax and do nothing but enjoy my family. Marni was here visiting and my parents came over too. Marni and I started the day off with a run in 90 degree heat, it was so hard and we were both so tired (and I was pushing the jogging stroller too which did not help) but we did it! Then Dave made us pancakes for breakfast and my parents came over. We relaxed in the morning, Colt went down for a nap and then my mom, sister , me and Colt went swimming for a bit at a friends house in the afternoon.
That night we all cooked up a delicious dinner of crab, steak, cheese bread, homemade onion rings and fruit salad. Marni was trying to get a 4th of July picture of Colt and Jax but this is the best she could do.
Jax's 1st 4th of July
His bib says "Baby's First 4th." Dave's cousin Tammy got it for him as well as the onesie that is very patriotic (thanks Tammy!!).
Later on that evening my friend Rachel, her husband Sean and their daughter Mae stopped by for a visit. They were in town visiting Rachel's family and wanted to see Colt and meet Jax. Colt and Mae had fun playing together outside.
Miss Mae.
Colt wanted to play some baseball on his new tee (thanks Price's!!)
WHACK!!! He loves it and runs all over the yard picking the ball up and doing it again. After Sean, Rach and Mae left we watched the fireworks from our backyard. There were so many going off all over the place and we could see everything, I didn't even buy any fireworks this year because I had learned last year that we can see everything we need to from our house. Colt thought it was very cool and when we woke up the next morning the first thing he asked for was "Fireworks."

Aunt Marni is here!!

My sister came today and is going to stay through the long weekend. Colt loves her, I had taken the boys to the doctor for Jax's one month appointment and Marni showed up just as we got into the office so she kept Colt entertained so I could focus on Jax. Marni has a little doggie named Hercules and Colt talks about him all the time, he calls him Herc. Colt has already kept Marni very busy wanting to play and read books non stop since she got here.
I was trying to get Colt to smile too but he was too busy making animal noises! We are looking forward to having Marni here for a couple days, its all Colt has talked about since I told her she was coming.

Jax 1 month old

Jax is now 1 month old. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by, it makes me sad to think his first month of life is already over! I forgot how much I love the newborn stage, they are just so sweet and cuddly and smell so good!! Jax is such a great baby so far, very easy going and laid back. He had been getting up more during the night since we went on vacation last week but last night he had a great night going 4-4.5 hours between feedings (now if only we could convince Colt to stay in bed all night long!!). He is starting to have longer periods of being awake and really is starting to look at us and turn his head toward voices. I can't wait to see him smile at us!! He had his 1 month appointment and he weighs 10lbs (70%) and is 22.5 inches long (90%). It's funny because that is how long Colt was when he was born! I am savoring every single moment that I have with him at this stage because I don't know if I can convince Dave that we should have another one. He is very happy with his 2 boys.....and so am I!!

Trip to Lynden

We spent a long weekend in Lynden, WA to celebrate Chris's 30th birthday party and to see all of our friends. This is the same group of friends that we will go to Chelan with in August. We all played volleyball together at CWU and most of us lived in the same house while we went to school as well. They are some of my best friends and we always have a great time together. We stayed at the Price's and since it was Colt's birthday the day we got there Julie and Crew had made a birthday cake for him.
Brody Price (13 months) and Wyatt Chase (16 months).
All of the girls: Me and Jax, Jess, Julie, Court, Randi, Tracey and Rilyn. Between all of us we have 6 boys, 1 girl, 3 boys on the way and 1 unknown on the way. We think there must have been something in the water at our house in Ellensburg that only allows us to have boys. Tracey is the only one with a girl so far and she did not live in the same house.
Chris's surprise 30th birthday party, it was a lot of fun though I think most of us were pretty tired either from being pregnant or being up with kids all night long.
Jess, Me, Jax, Jaymin and Crew hanging out on the couch ready for bed.
The boys playing cards....they have such a great time together!
Jax and Colt hanging out on the beanbags at Julie's house.
Colt eating goldfish, he no longer smiles much for the camera.
My sweet baby boy Jax.
Colt wanted to "hold brudder."
Heading home.
If I want to make Colt smile I guess I just have to strap him in a seat so he can't move!It is about a 7 hour drive from Walla Walla to Lynden so it makes for a long day. Both the kids did great, we stopped in Kennewick and North Bend going both ways to get a break and there was almost no crying in the car. Colt started to cry a little bit right before we got into Lynden because he was tired of being in the car but Dave started pointing out all the cows and horses and he calmed down quickly (thank goodness Lynden is such a farming town and there were animals everywhere!!).

Colt 2 year check-up

Colt had his 2 year check up today with his pediatrician. My mom came over and watched Jax so Colt and I could just go by ourselves. I had hoped to get to take him out to lunch after the appointment but I felt like I was going to throw up for the entire morning so I just brought him back home right after it and my mom took him for the afternoon so I could just rest. Colt is now 36 inches (90%) and just under 28 lbs (50%). She also mentioned that we could switch him to 1% milk if we wanted which is nice because Dave and I usually drink skim so I think as a family we will just switch to 1% for the next couple years. That way I will never have to throw out millk because we could not drink it fast enough. He also had 1 shot which he hated and screamed for about 1 minute and then he got a tattoo and a book and he was happy again.
