McCall Idaho

We took a weekend trip to McCall Idaho for a wedding and to just relax and spend some time with Dave's family. Memah and Popee were there as well as Katie, Travis, Evie and Nora. The weather could not have been more perfect. We swam (in an indoor pool), took walks, played outside, relaxed and enjoyed time as a family. McCall is probably one of my top 5 places to vacation.

Children's Museum

The older boys had a half day at school today thanks to parent-teacher conferences and Colt has been asking me for months if we could visit the children's museum so I figured today was the perfect afternoon. There was literally no one else around (the perks to living in a small town on a work day) and the kids had a blast playing for 3 hours throughout the museum. We will definitely be back especially because I don't know how much longer Colt will enjoy these type of things. Though they do have an awesome science/outdoor room for older kids.

Fun Fall Day.

We enjoyed a perfect fall day today with Poppee and Memah. They drove over this morning and took us out to breakfast. We spent the morning watching Colt and then Jax play soccer and then spent some time at Klickers finding pumpkins and playing on the hay bales and slide.

After the pumpkin patch we went to the corn maze, the kids had fun and were great about helping us find their way out of the maze. It took quite awhile and it was a pretty big maze. Not one of them complained and Colbi walked for almost the entire time. Right at the end she asked me to carry her and was almost asleep on my shoulder when we got out of the maze but she woke back up for the car ride back home.

It was such a nice day and so fun to get to spend some time with Dave's parents. The kids adore them and love it when they come over.

New Tradition

Dave started a new tradition with the boys this year. Every Friday Colt and Jax have late start at school so Dave has started taking them out to breakfast on Friday mornings. The kids look forward to it all week long and wake up early early every Friday ready to go. Dave always asks them 3 questions during breakfast : what was the best part of your week? worst part? what would you like me to pray for you?

 With Dave being gone hunting this last week I got to take the kids out for breakfast. It was fun but quite the circus. I am sure most people came here to get some work done, have a cup of coffee and wake up. My kids come in wide awake ready to take on the world. While they are well behaved I would not say they are quiet. It was so fun and was a perfect start to my Friday!

Fun with the littles

 With the older boys at school and me not having to start teaching again until January I have been trying to create fun memories with my littlest people. We have started a parent/child preschool 2 days a week which has been really fun and good for both the kids to be around other kids and do fun crafts and activities. I like that I can be part of their learning without having to come up with the activities myself (something I am not very good at). We spend one day a week and walk around downtown, stopping for a coffee for me and on this day cake pops for the kids.

 We often end up at the bookstore downtown. They have a small play area in the children's book section and we sit and play for an hour and read books. It is fairly quiet in there and not very busy during the morning hours and the kids and I enjoy it.

We have spent lots of time at the park, going on bike rides, play dates with friends and just enjoying time with the two of them.  It has been so much fun and I feel so lucky that I get to just enjoy these two with no distractions right now.
