Jax's 7th Birthday

Jax is 7 today and he was sure excited when he walked out of his room this morning and saw the decorations outside of his bedroom door. He gave me a big hug and waited very patiently for everyone to wake up so he could open his presents.
He asked for bread dough pudding for his birthday breakfast but he was so excited to play with his new remote control motorcycle that he didn't even eat much of it.
Memah made him a Star Wars blanket which he loves!
He got to wear the birthday crown at school.
Case and Colbi bringing in his birthday treats to his class.

Jax had Joel over in the afternoon and we spent the time playing baseball, completed a treasure hunt and played a game with a bunch of balloons and then of course there was a ton of sword fighting, wrestling and pretending to hunt each other with guns.
Birthday balloons from Papa and DiDi.
Happy Birthday Jax!

This kid is a sweetie, he has a soft heart and a soft demeanor but he is also a whiz at memorizing (ALL THE THINGS!), whistling, snapping, and rollerblading. He is reading and reading really well, he does great in school and while he complains almost every morning about having to go to school he always seems happy that he went when I pick him up for the day.  He loves to play on the I-pad (annoying at times!) but is also usually up for getting outside and playing with brothers. He has mastered rollerblading and is loving that whenever he can find even ground outside. He played basketball this year and Dave was his coach, he had a good first season. He is playing baseball now and seems to enjoy it. He and Colt are on the same team and it has been a good challenge for Jax to play up with some bigger kids. Kindergarten will finish up next week and he will be on to first grade. But first we will enjoy the summer, soak up time with each other and have a ton of fun.  I am so proud of you Jax and how hard you work when you put your mind to something. I love your heart and that you always ask me to play catch with you or read to you. I will try and say "yes" more often.

Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths."

Happy 5th Birthday Case!

Case is 5 and he was up bright and early before any of his siblings to start his celebration.
Bread dough pudding and a birthday hat. Great way to start his day!
Memah and Popee gave the kids rollerblades and the boys have spent lots of hours riding around and running into each other with them on. What a great gift and perfect for this crazy kid!
 Happy Birthday Case!
All he wanted for his birthday was a rifle and a sword and he got both. His day was made.
Oreo cake that I made per his request.
Every year we celebrate these two who's birthdays are just one day apart. Love looking back on the pictures of Case getting bigger each year.
 Papa and his mini-me.
We didn't have a big party this year so I took Case and his buddy Isaac out to DQ for lunch on his birthday.
Much of his birthday was spent rollerblading with his brothers.
Then he passed out with his little sister snuggled up to his side.
This kid keeps life interesting and if he is anything like his Papa (which he is!) it's going to be interesting for a very long time. He loves running everywhere, doing everything at full speed (which results in lots of messes and accidents followed by "I didn't mean to!") and is always keeping up with his brothers. He has a temper and gets angry quickly but is also quick to cry and apologize. He is agile, loves the monkey bars, climbing everything and playing whatever sport his brothers are playing at the time.  He loves Colbi like crazy but then spends half his day driving her crazy.  He loves the outdoors, hunting, fishing and just being with his dad. He will start preschool next year and its hard to believe that my baby boy will be off to school the year after that. I try so hard to enjoy the time with him, to not get too upset at all his fits, accidents and messes. To really just love him and play with him and I hope he knows how much I do love him. I fall short daily, I lose my temper and most days I feel that I am not enough but I hope he always knows how much I love him and how proud I am of him every single day. Love you Case Michael!

Spring Fun!

 Pre-game breakfast!
Jax played basketball at the YMCA and Dave was his coach.
Case and Colbi cuddling on the couch.
We took the boat out one weekend when the temperatures were in the 80's. We did some fishing and the kids had fun eating and fishing.
Jax driving the boat.
Colt eating (he never stops!).

All 4 kids now sleep in one bedroom. Colbi decided she did not want her own room so the kids share the bunk beds. Colbi refuses to give Case any space and I find them like this every morning. Case doesn't seem to mind though.
 Baseball season!
Colt and Jax played on the same team this year which was so nice. This was both of their first year playing baseball and they seemed to like it and they both improved so much!
Jax is #5.
Colt on base.
Colt getting ready to go catch.
Jax hanging out in the dugout

Bike rides. I am excited for Colbi to be able to do this in the next year as well. Bike riding with the kids is one of my favorite things to do.

These kids are so much fun (and so much work!). We are gearing up for summer.
