Trip to Aunt Marni's

This week is mommy's and Di Di's spring break so we packed up the car on Saturday and made the trek to Boise. The trip was uneventful for me as I slept for a bit then my mommy kept me entertained with fish crackers. Apparently there was quite a bit of snow during the first part of it but Di Di drove slow and I slept away in my car seat unaware of what was going on outside. We finally arrived around noon at Aunt Marni's house in Boise. I must say she has a BIG house but so nice and comfortable for me to explore.
I started off exploring right away begining with the coffee table...
and then to the windows.....
and back to the floor to play with Herclues and drink a little juice.
However my day was just beginning, the weather was so nice we headed outside for a bit to enjoy the sunshine. I of course had to crawl up all the steps...
and see what these colored things are.
Apparently they are flowers that Di Di was planting at Aunt Marni's house.
I crawled right up to the front porch and pulled myself up. Here I am waving "hi" or "bye" to my mommy. I am not sure which it is but apparently waving is what you do when you want to say hi or bye.
Then mommy decided to put me in the grass, she is so smart I hated the way the grass felt and would not move an inch so that kept me contained for a while.
I still thought it was fun though, mommy can keep me from moving but she can't stop me from having fun!!
On Monday we had to come home and Aunt Marni had to go back to work. We had such a great time I can't wait to come back!!

9 months old!

Colt is 9 months old and on the move!! He is sooooo busy and wants to explore and see everything he can get his hands on. He really loves pulling himself up onto things: me, Dave, the dresser, couch, chairs, tables..I think you get the idea. He is so much fun to have around and fills our lives with so much joy. I can't imagine what my life was like before Colt!! He likes peek-a-boo and is really starting to find things funny, he thinks it is hilarious when Dave plays really rough with him. I am always telling Dave to be careful but Colt just laughs and laughs, Colt loves his daddy but I am pretty sure the feelings are mutual. The minute Dave gets home from work he takes Colt and they immediately start playing together. I am sure it is the best part of Colt's day....and Dave's too!!
He also had his 9 month check-up, he got his last round of hepatitis B shot and was a champ, no crying for him. This is the second time he has gone in for shots and not cried, it helps that the nurse who does it is so quick and efficient and they let me hold him while he gets them which I think makes a difference. He has slowed down on the growth curve quite a bit since his 6 month check-up though he is still high in percentages. He was 21lbs 2 oz which was a 2lb growth from his 6 month and puts him in the 75% for weight and he was 30 inches which is a 1 inch growth from his 6 month and he is still in the 95% for his height. He is also growing into his head a bit, his head is at the 50% now. I can tell that he is thinning out since he started moving so much but he is still a good size kid!! Still bigger than all his cousins and most other kids his age and even some older than him:)
Colt loves trucks and balls, not neccesarily always in that order, he likes to throw the ball and have us throw it back to him. He loves to make the vroom sound when he is playing with his trucks. He also loves to play with Byson (as you can see from the picture above) they play tug-a-war often as Byson wants Colt's toys more than Colt does! Colt is all boy!!! He is just starting to make the small steps towards cruising around the furniture, once he figures that out walking will not be far behind. We are not in any hurry, the sooner he walks the more busy he will be and then its just going to get that much crazier!! He has the bluest eyes, the only thing anyone ever comments on is how big and blue his eyes are and he loves to smile. He has Dave's smile and I think he is going to have Dave's wicked sense of humor:)

Happy Easter!

Mommy and Daddy let me open my Easter present when we got up this morning. I got these great leggos that are fun to play with. I think my daddy enjoys them more than me though!
After playing we had breakfast. Mommy made waffles, with homeade syrup, strawberries and pineapple. I really loved the pineapple a lot! The waffles were good too, I love feeding myself real people food!
Before church I got to open my easter truck from Di Di and Papa. I got more trucks and fishies to play in the bath with!
I also love to throw balls!
Mommy wanted some pictures before church...
and she made daddy be in one too.

Touchdown!!

I know its not football season but Dave has still been teaching Colt what to do when he says "Touchdown." He has been working on it for a couple days and Colt has it figured out now. Almost every time we say it he throws his arms up, we don't even have to do the motion anymore. Its pretty cute!!

We're Back!

I can't believe its been almost two weeks since I posted any pictures! We have been busy, me with teaching and coaching track. We have had three track meets in the last week and only one of them was at home. Dave had to go to Seattle for business for a couple days and he has been busy with work at the office and taking care of Colt when I am away at track meets! Colt is also very busy, he has been exploring all around our house, my parents house and his babysitters house! He has become very fast at crawling and loves to pull himself up on everything. He is getting so tall which helps him be able to reach things that I did not think he could reach! We are enjoying spending the Easter weekend at home just relaxing and playing as a family. He is still drooling all the time and we are trying to get rid of the last bit of this cold that keeps hanging on. His nose has been runny for over 2 weeks!
I see a lot of Dave in this picture!
He has a hard time keeping his tongue in his mouth. I really should post a picture of what I looked like when I was a baby, my tongue was always like this!

Truck....vroom vroom

Mike, Julie and Randee came over tonight. Julie brought dinner which was so nice because I had a track meet and did not get home until 7. They also brought Colt an Easter gift
Its a truck! Colt loves trucks, he will pick a truck over anything else to play with (except maybe a ball) and he makes the vroom vroom sound when he plays with them. I think he gets it from all the boys at this daycare.
Driving his new truck, he loved it.
Of course the next morning he wanted to get right back on it and play again.

Dinner Time!

Byson always waits under Colt's chair whenever we feed him, then he picks up all the scraps. Colt has started to eat more regular food, he still has his baby food but we also let him try other things. He really like bread, noodles, olives, animal crackers, cheerios, bananas and many other things. He is not a picky kid. Joyce, his babysitter, has started to feed him waffles with strawberris in the morning and he loves that. He also loves pancakes and of course ice cream but I try to make sure Dave does not give him too much because of the real milk that's in it:)
Colt also likes to give him food when he thinks we are not looking:)
Cheese Mom!
He is getting to be so funny, whenever I pull out the camera now he almost always just looks at me and smiles like he knows that is what he is supposed to do!

For Rach

I was tagged by Rachel and since I never got around to answering her last one I will try my best to answer this one. Its kind of fun to read what everyone has been doing.

Here goes.......

20 years ago I was 7 years old and in 2nd grade at Berney Elementary school. I played YMCA basketball and loved to shoot hoops in our gravel driveway outside pretending that every basket was the game winning shot in the state tournament.

10 years ago I was 17, a junior in high school, running track with my best buddies Mari and Rachel and breaking the school record in the 400 meter dash. Since I was in high school I am sure I was probably pretty focused on myself and my close friends and not much else mattered at that moment.

8 years ago I was 20 and I met my husband at Central Washington University (only he did not know he was going to be my husband yet!!). I was playing volleyball and enjoying living in Ellensburg with all of my new friends.

5 years ago I was 22 years old and student teaching at Pioneer middle school in math and preparing for an August wedding to the love of my life.

1 year ago I was 7 months pregnant and coaching track at the high school I teach at. I was trying to stay active during my pregnancy with lots of walking and running and wanting the days to go by quicker so I could meet my son.

Yesterday I spent the day in Richland coaching at an all day track meet. It was a long day and very cold at times. I missed my little boy a lot yesterday! Dave drove me over to Tri-Cities and hung out with his parents and siblings for the day so he did bring Colt by the track meet for about 10 minutes so I could see him but it was too cold for him to stay out there very long.

Today Colt woke me up a little before 8, he was sad and I could tell he was tired still becuase he had not gone to bed till late the night before and had slept very little yesterday. I fed him and then put him in the jogging stroller and went on a LONG run. It felt amazing and put me in a much better mood. Colt and I chatted for the first 15 minutes and then he fell asleep and I enjoyed running with the sun shining and just reflecting on how great my life is right now instead of dwelling on the things I can't change. I get frusterated when I do not have the time to do the things I want to do with Colt because I am working or coaching. It seems like he has been a little fussier than usual this past week and it makes me worry that maybe this crazy schedule we are in right now is making him unsettled. He goes from babysitter, to my mom's and then back to us for about an hour each night then to bed. Then I was gone all day yesterday, its hard being a mom sometimes but I just have to remember to be happy with what God has given me and do the best to make the time I spend with him be wonderful. Today is a blessing because I get to spend the entire day with him and play (and while he naps I will get the housework done:))

Tomorrow is the start of another crazy work week and coaching track. I have two track meets this week on Thursday and Friday but will have the entire next weekend free to spend with Dave and Colt!!

One month from now I will be doing pretty much the same things, coaching track and teaching. Colt will be 9.5 months old and Dave will be 28! Hopefully the weather will be nicer in the evenings so we can take Colt on walks and runs after track practice.

One year from now Colt will be 20 months old! He will probably be walking and maybe starting to talk a little better and hopefully we will have lots of time to play with him and just watch him grow up.

I tag Julie, Tracey and Jess (if you guys have time!)

Finally...HOME!

We made it home on Sunday night and I enjoyed some time playing with my toys before bed.
I love to make these pop up and then push them back down.
Hmmm...what can I get into next?
Colt finally got his first tooth this past week, he is drooling everywhere so I am thinking there might be a second one coming in very soon as well. He also learned to crawl up the stairs this past weekend, he practiced in Seattle at my Aunt's house and then continued to work at it at Kenzie's house in Kennewick. He is pretty good at going up but does not understand how to get back down. He usually just falls backwards so we have to be quick to catch him:) Track has been going very well, I have taken Colt with me a couple of times, he loves it. I put him in his stroller with his cheerios and he eats the cheerios and has fun as the other kids on the track team love to entertain him. He thinks the boys are so funny, and they love to make faces at him and make him laugh. My mom and dad have been great about taking him after school until Dave and I are done with work and Colt loves to spend time with my dad. When my parents hold there arms out he is always wanting to go to my dad first and if my mom tries to take him he hits her hands away. My dad thinks its so great that he loves him that much! I don't think my mom's feeling are hurt too much by it:) Besides my mom does all the work, feeding, changing, eating, bath time and my dad just plays with him! Overall, things are going well and the adjustment to coaching has gone really well. I miss Colt but when I get to see him its all the more fun!

Jaime and Travis's wedding

After a day of hanging out in the hotel it was time to party at the wedding! The wedding was at a winery in Issaquah and it was beautiful!! Aunt Marni bought me my new outfit and a new pair of shoes!!
Here is the happy couple with the grandma's.
My grandma Di Di with her sisters and mom.
Aunt Marni and her boyfriend Nate.
Hanging out with Papa and Di Di.
I even got to try some food....
I loved the mashed potatoes!!
After a long night I was pooped and ready to go to bed so mom and dad had to leave early, I did not even get to try the cake:(

Weekend in Seattle

We were in Seattle this past weekend for my mommy's cousin's wedding. It was loads of fun....except for my cold. I was not feeling too well, mommy took me to the doctor on Thursday and she said it was just a cold so I am doing my best to fight through it. I tried really hard to be happy this past weekend so everyone could still have a good time. Daddy tried to boost my spirits by crawling into my crib with me at the hotel.
Mommy was sure it was going to break but it didn't. Lucky for daddy I only weigh 20 lbs!
We spent lots of time hanging out in the hotel, relaxing and spending time with Aunt Marni, Papa, Di Di and great grandma Milly.
Oh yeah, and daddy let me choose the channel!!

Mae and Colt

My good friend Rachel from high school was in town this weekend. She met me at my parents place and we got to catch up and play with our kids. She was really close to my parents as well so it was fun to see her. My mom made us a really good healthy dinner and the kids were great! Colt was trying to share his toy with Mae.
Mae is 4 months and Colt is 8 months. They are 4 months and 5 days apart.
Finally a picture with the mom's!!
I think they make a pretty cute couple don't you???
It was great seeing you Rach and Mae. Can't wait until our next playdate!!

Just another saturday...

Mom was cleaning and daddy helped her!! Mom was pretty excited, he was doing all the vacumning but then decided to play with me. Daddy would turn on the vacumn and I would put it against my face and it would suck my skin up. Dad got such a kick out of it. I kept doing it over and over again.
Then I decided to explore a bit...
I am on the move and let me tell you I am enjoying my new found freedom a lot!!
