Colbi Lyn turns 1!!

Today our baby girl turns 1. She has been an incredible addition to our family and makes us all feel very complete. She is sweet and loving and sensitive. She loves her mom and dad ALOT and does not want much to do with anyone else that may try and hold her. She loves to wave hello and goodbye and is quite the little talker. Her words include dada, dog, mama, cheese, banana, hi, bye, Jax, Case, Colt, more, all done, didi, papa, baby, ball and no. She seems to pick up new words and signs everyday. She is finally crawling everywhere, pulling up on things, going up stairs and getting into everything she is not supposed to. She has a scream that is so high pitch it hurts my ears every single time (we are working on getting that under control) and she may be slightly spoiled (which I am also working on). She eats everything and is not picky at all (I am sure this will change as she gets older) but it sure makes it easy to feed her. I am still nursing her but am slowly weaning her to a sippy cup full time, right now she just nurses morning and night and does great drinking out of a cup. She seems to love baby dolls (which I think is so cute!) and her brothers legos (which is so fitting since she is surrounded by boys all day long). She wears size 12 month clothing, size 3 diapers, sleeps 12-14 hours a night and takes one 2 hour nap every day.
We had already celebrated her birthday with Dave's family on family vacation and then my sister Amy had a little party for her when we were in Boise last weekend. So we kept her actual birthday very simple. My parents came over in the morning and brought Colbi her present. My mom had taken my cabbage patch baby doll from when I was little and Dave's cabbage patch from when he was little and had cleaned them up, sewed them new outfits (with the help of my Grandma Milly) and had a baby blanket made (by my cousin Jaime) and then put them in my old doll bed and gave it to Colbi for her birthday.

She kept saying "bebe" over and over again, then giving them kisses then throwing them on the ground (which the boys thought was hilarious!).

After my parents left I took the kids down to the cupcake shop Frosted and had them pick out a birthday cupcake for Colbi, they picked the banana split flavor and when Dave came home for lunch we put a candle in it, sang her Happy Birthday (which she loved and just smiled at us the entire time we sang) and then we let her go to town on the cupcake. Even though we had celebrated a couple times before this was the first time I let her actually eat the cake. Dave started by feeding her and then once she got the idea she loved it and could not get enough. It was so fun watching her eat it and the boys were loving it as well. Dave made the comment "this is how all 1 year old birthday parties should be". We didn't have a big celebration but that did not make the day any less special, it was fun to just be together as our family of 6 and celebrate this sweet little girl who has been a huge bright spot in our lives this last year.

 Happy Birthday sweet girl!!!!

Dave has another fishing trip coming up and then hunting season begins. Looking forward to lots of meat in our freezer again, its pretty bare right now. The pressure is on!!

Weekend in Boise

My mom and I and all the kids drove to Boise for the weekend to see my sisters and family as well as attend Marni's final bridal shower in Boise. We arrived Friday evening and my sister Amy surprised us with a little birthday celebration for Colbi.

We had pizza and salad while the boys all swam in the hot tub and then a really yummy chocolate cake that I could not stop eating! It was delicious.
She also got the boys superhero painting kits so they had fun doing that as well.

On Sunday we attended Marni's bridal shower and my brother in law Andy watched the boys along with help from my nieces Emma and Lucy. So nice of him to do that and so nice for me to get away and enjoy celebrating my little sister.
The beautiful bride to be with Colbi. Looking forward to their wedding in Mexico very soon!!!

Pemberton Family Vacation : Chelan, WA

After 4 days in Leavenworth we packed up and drove the hour to Chelan to spend another 3 days with everyone. We spent a lot of time here in the pool, the condos were really nice but didn't have the easy access to the outdoors for the kids like the condos in Leavenworth. The kids could have cared less, they just loved swimming everyday.
Colbi loves the water, she splashed around just like in the bathtub.
One night while all the guys were mini-golfing we took the kids down to the park in Chelan. It was a gorgeous night and the lake was right next to the park.
On our last full day in Chelan we rented 2 jet skis and spent the day at the lake swimming and taking turns on the jet skis. It was a perfect way to end a great vacation!
Then finished off the day with another trip to the pool after dinner and s'mores before bed. That wrapped up a very fun week of vacation.

Pemberton Family Vacation : Leavenworth WA

We spent 4 days in Leavenworth with Dave's family. We had 3 condos; 9 adults and 8 kids (under 8!). Its not easy to get everyone to agree on what we should do each day but overall it was such a fun time and a lot of fun and laughter occurred. We did some fishing in the river, swimming at the pool, a group of us floated the river one afternoon, bible studies were completed (for the kids and adults), we celebrated Evie and Colbi's birthdays and had lots of laughs and great food!
The crew of cousins (minus baby Nora). Colt and Cam (7), Jax (5), Cal (4), Case (3), Evie (2 almost!) and Colbi (11 months).
Jax showing his bible activity for the day.
 Colt displaying his craft.
Cal and Jax after bible spidey school.
Memah and Poppee invited the kids over every morning at 7:30 to their condo and they did a bible study with them. They got them all spiderman shirts that they would wear each morning during the bible study. Jax kept asking when he could keep his for good and he was so excited on the last day when Memah told him he didn't have to take it off. They had chocolate milk, a bible lesson and craft for them to do.
Downtown Leavenworth, we went down there to shop for the afternoon and Dave lasted about 30 minutes and told us it was time to go. It is not easy to go into the little shop with 4 little kids anyway. We took our kids back to the condo and went walking by the river. Leavenworth is beautiful!

Nora Lynne Park almost 1 month old. I loved getting baby snuggles with her when Colbi was sleeping (Colbi cried everytime I held Nora).
We had an early birthday celebration for Evie's 2nd birthday and Colbi's 1st on the last night in Leavenworth.
Princess Evie and Colbi (she was a little unsure about everything going on).
Swimming in the pool and chicken fights were favorites for the kids and men.
