Merry Christmas

Luke 2:11
"Today in the town of David
a Savior has been born to you:
he is Christ the Lord."
 Merry Christmas!
The boys woke up Christmas morning and we showed them their new room first. Colt was excited to see a new ax on his bed. His Christmas list had only 4 things on it : an ax, jetpack, shepherds staff and a sling. Unfortunately all he got off of it was the ax but he was pretty happy with that ax.
Colt hanging out on his new bed.
Jax pointing to the airplanes hanging from the ceiling.
 The boys in their beds.
Jax was not interested in sitting for a picture at all, transitioning him to sleeping in a bed could be interesting.
We headed downstairs next to open stockings. Colt was very helpful giving Jax his gifts from his stocking.
Jax got a cow (his favorite word and animal), slinky and nerf gun (his favorite gift of all).
He also got 2 new balls, he is obsessed with throwing them and holding on to them.
He liked unwrapping his presents too.
Colt found a slinky, lifesaver gummies, yo-yo and nerf gun in his stocking.
Jax playing with his nerf gun, its perfect for him because he can load and shoot it himself.
Trying to get a quick picture Christmas morning was a challenge.
Dave, the boys and I spent the next hour playing nerf guns in their new room. It was a fun part of our day because it was the only time when it was just the four of us. We don't celebrate any holiday by ourselves so it was nice to have some alone time together that morning and play. We all had fun shooting each other with the nerf guns and laughing. My parents showed up and Marni finally pulled herself out of bed and we went downstairs to open presents and have breakfast.
Marni got the boys a Toy Story stunt set which was so fun for Dave to set up. However, once it was set up Colt loved playing with it. Marni surprised me and got me a kindle which I love!
Jax and Di Di enjoying a new book.
My mom knitted both the boys hats.
For breakfast my mom made a breakfast casserole, granola and pecan rolls. After opening all the presents we had breakfast and then the boys wanted to run around outside for a little bit. Jax got new boots, a new hat and a new Northface jacket (the jacket is actually Colt's old one but Marni bought Colt a new one that was one size bigger so Jax now has his own Northface jacket.).
Papa and Jax.
Colt hitting Di Di with a snowball.
I wish I had more pictures, we had a horrible night as far as sleeping and both boys were up a lot. I had the worst headache all Christmas Day and did not feel like taking any pictures. Neither of the boys were acting like their usual selves either. Jax was whiny all day and Colt was not his usual agreeable self. I didn't even take one picture of Marni while she was here. We went over to my parents later that afternoon and had Christmas dinner, prime rib, mashed potatoes, pecan salad, and berry pie for dessert. We played a hunting and fishing game which Dave ended up winning (my Dad was a close second) and then we headed home for sleep!

Boys Room.

For Christmas this year Dave and I had talked about moving the boys into the same room together. This past week we finally got the room all done in time to show them Christmas morning. We kept with the trains, motorcycle, airplane, car theme that we had used in Colt's bedroom and moved all of it into the bonus room. The bonus room took about 4 days to clean out and organize all the stuff, we need a bigger house (or one with more storage). We bought 2 twin mattresses, new bedding and some wall decals to decorate the room, everything else we already had. This is the boys big Christmas present, we didn't get them much else but I know they (especially Colt) will be so excited when we show them their new room tomorrow morning.
We had these in Colt's previous room, these are on the wall to the right as you walk into the room.
This room does not have a closet besides this little storage space, luckily the boys do not have a lot of toys and everything fit perfectly.
 The reading/music corner.
The rocker was my great grandma's both the boys love sitting in it and rocking back and forth. My mom had it re-covered for me when I was pregnant with Colt.
This is the other half of the room complete with their train table, beds and dresser. Dave spent some time while watching the Boise State game screwing all the train tracks down so the boys can't pull them up or throw them around the room. He was also the mastermind behind the room decorations, I just did what he told me too.
 Jax's bed.
We are leaving him in his crib until probably April, he sleeps so good right now and we don't want to mess with that. I know Colt will be excited to have a room buddy when he finally does make the transition.
 Colt's bed.
It is fitting that Byson is laying on his side because he takes a nap with Colt everyday on his bed.
We got the sheet sets off of Amazon and they had these wall decals that were being sold that matched them so we bought a set, there are trains, helicopters, cars, planes, motorcycles and trucks. They were the perfect addition to the room.
The boys spent the night at my parents Thursday night so Dave and I could finish their room, today we put boxes in front of the door and told Colt he couldn't use his play room (the room used to be the boys playroom and Dave's hunting/fishing room) because daddy and I were wrapping Christmas presents in there. We are letting him sleep with us tonight because Marni is here and sleeping in Colt's old room (we now have our guest room back!). We had a laid back Christmas Eve tonight, my parents came over and I made appetizers for everyone to eat, we let the boys open up their Christmas Eve pajamas and one other present. Everyone is asleep now except Dave and I, we are playing Santa and filling up the boys stockings.
Merry Christmas Eve!
Luke 2:8:9
And there were shepherds out in the field,
keeping watch by night.
And an angel of the Lord appeared to them,
and the glory of the Lord shone around them.

The boys got new hats from Aunt Katie for Christmas. A shark for Jax and a Davey Crockett hat for Colt. They seem to like them.

Christmas 2010 with the Pemberton's

After Colt's Christmas play all of Dave's family came back to our house to have an early Christmas celebration. Dave and I switch off every year and this year we are with my parents so we celebrated early with all of Dave's family. We had some yummy appetizers and some very interesting dinner conversations (thanks to Katie), I really wish our time with his family could be put on reality television, I know we could make millions just off of his sisters and what they say. It was so fun and as always we laughed, ALOT! After the food and fun we opened presents. We all draw names every year and usually exchange on Christmas Eve but since we are not going to be there we did it early.
Aunt Dee Dee getting some cuddle time from Jax. Everyone loves cuddles from him, that's all he wants to do is cuddle!
 Katie's turn for cuddles.
Dave's parents always give us pajamas on Christmas Eve so we all opened up our pj's first and changed into them right away.
Cam and Colt giving each other a little side hug.
Why is it so hard for 3 year olds to smile normal?
I love this picture, it just screams happiness!
Jax's face cracks me up, he is such a happy little guy.
 Julie, Me, Randee, Kenzie, Katie.
The boys- Dave, Taylor, Mike, Andy.
They were cracking up taking this picture because we kept telling them to scoot closer, then Andy kept trying to make himself look bigger.
Little boys - Cal, Colt and Jax.
Calvin, the youngest cousin (until May).
Colt and Camryn loved opening their presents and everyone else's Both the boys got lots of fun things, books, movies, airplanes, cows (Jax is obsessed with cows right now) and Colt got his first video game (the Leapster Explorer) which will be great for car rides.
Jax even liked taking the paper off.
Dave's parents always buy a family gift that we can play with and this year it was nerf guns. Jax liked to pull the dart out and put it back in over and over, then he would pretend to shoot at you and do it again.

Colt had no problem figuring it out, he loved running around shooting everyone and he didn't mind being shot at either.
This boy is happiest with a gun, a sword or a bow in his hand.
For Christmas he asked for a jet pack and an ax (are you kidding me!).
Andy had Dave and he got him a beer making kit.
 Jax and Poppi opening presents.
(Jax can say Papa now and he says it all the time around both Mike and my dad).
Jax and Memah playing with the nerf guns.
Brothers.
We had such a fun evening with everyone. Dave's parents took the boys back to Tri-Cities with them for a sleepover so Dave and I had the rest of the evening and most of Monday to ourselves (we drove over Monday night and picked them up). Dave had to work on Monday and I spent most the day cleaning, running errands and organizing. We are moving the boys into the bonus room together and cleaning it out and figuring out where to put everything has turned our house into a disaster (at least it looks like a disaster to me). Our plan is to fnish it up Christmas Eve so when they wake up Christmas morning they have a new room (that will be their Christmas present this year). We are going to wait and move Jax until later this spring, he sleeps so well in a crib right now that I hate to disrupt that but probably sometime in April we will transition him. I think Colt will be excited to get a room buddy.
