Christmas with the Pemberton family

Later on Christmas afternoon we packed our bags and headed to Kennewick to celebrate with Memah, Popee and family!
Car full of kids and dogs excited to keep celebrating!
Memah bought an Xbox1 and all the kids had fun playing Just Dance and other games on it.
That evening we got all dressed up for our annual acting out of the Christmas Story.
Dave with Nora.
Jax as a king and Colbi the Star.
My kiddos.
Dave ended up taking over the job of the Star, he filled it out nicely. Colt and Camryn were Joseph and Mary.
We ended up doing it twice since the video camera did not record the first time. This is always one of my favorite moments of the entire holiday. So much laughing involved!
Cousins!
Colt excited for Christmas dinner.
The kids place settings were so cute and creative (Memah's idea).

Colt and Camryn.
Case and Calvin.
Colbi enjoying her dinner. Memah put together a delicious dinner of prime rib, crab, salad, rolls and baked potato. That night we all went to Star Wars which was a perfect way to end the holiday.
Colbi got a kitchen for Christmas from Memah and Popee. As soon as we got home on Sunday Dave, Colt and Jax got to work setting it up.

Christmas 2015

Christmas Eve this year was a little different since we were by ourselves but it ended up being fun and relaxing. Dave made sushi and we enjoyed using the chopsticks and eating some really yummy food.
The kids are not too shabby with chopsticks either.
 Opening the Christmas Eve present.

After dinner the kids opened up their Christmas pajamas (athletic shorts for the boys since they rarely wear pajamas anymore) and we read the Christmas story. We ended the night watching Star Wars V (we had been marathon watching all the Star Wars to get ready for the new one that we are going to Saturday night) and then the kids went to bed around 10. I told them that they were not allowed to come and get us until the clock said at least 6:00 on it.
Presents and stockings under the tree ready for morning!
Christmas morning. Colt came into the living room and said "6:03 mom", ha! The other boys were up shortly after and we had to wake Colbi up.
Stocking time!

After we opened up presents we had eggs and almond poppyseed break for breakfast and then layed around in our pajamas drinking coffee, playing with the kids new presents (the boys each got a kindle fire which was a huge hit) and watching Star Wars VI before packing up and driving over to Kennewick to continue our Christmas celebration. It was a fun and relaxing start to our Christmas and I enjoyed getting to have a quieter Christmas morning with the kids before the craziness of being around lots of family started up.

Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas cookies with friends

I love Christmas time!! The older boys got out of school last Friday and so I waited until everyone was home to do any Christmas baking. This also prevented me from eating 3,000 cookies before Christmas Day was even here! Colt's friend Brackyn and Jax's friend Joel came over and spent the day with us. The kids are at such a fun age where the older 4 could do everything by themselves, I just had to give Case a little bit of help and all Colbi wanted to do was lick the frosting off her cookie and then play with her baby doll (her newest obsession! Every area is our house is made into a bed for her babies, it is really quite adorable.).
 These kids are fun!
Colt and Brackyn. These two have been buddies since kindergarten and get along so well together.
Jax and Joel. These two are so much alike it is scary!
My little ones, love both of them but they sure keep me busy ALL THE TIME!
 Cookie monster!

We ended up making peanut butter cookies with chocolate kisses in the middle, m&m mint chocolate brownies, gingerbread bars and sugar cookies.  This was my favorite day of break so far!

A little about Miss Colbi Lyn - 27 months

Oh this girl!! She is something else in the best way possible. I can't believe how much fun she is and to watch her grow into her own person and become such a little girl. It is really fun and awesome!
Watching a movie in the theater for the first time. Memah and Popee treated us to the Good Dinosaur when we were in Hermiston for Colt's basketball tournament.
Wearing her safety goggles at Tot Spot, they were doing a hammer and nail activity and she refused to work without them on.
One early Saturday morning she was up at 6 so I took her with me to clean Dave's office. Notice the baby doll, baby dolls come everywhere with her these days. She loves to make beds all over our house for her babies and put them to bed. It is so cute!
Her first pedicure! I took my mom for a little Christmas pedicure and Colbi came along. She spent most the time saying she wanted to take a bath in the water and was not happy when they drained it!
She potty trained early and easy! It took less than a week and she was in full time underwear during the day, most nights I try and remember to put a diaper on her just in case but she pretty much always wakes up dry. After 8.5 years I am no longer changing diapers, this is one milestone I am excited for!
I came out of my room at 5 one morning and noticed her door was open and she was not there. I started quietly looking all over the house and whispering her name. I finally found her sleeping on the bottom bunk between Case and Jax. I asked her why she had gone in there after she woke up that morning and she told me "mama I want to sweep wit my bwothers".
A girl and her dog.
She asked the boys to help her build a house for her My Little Ponies and before I knew it all the boys were playing ponies with her.
She is growing so fast and she is definitely 2, she has a little bit of an attitude and thanks to her older brothers she says some things that none of my other kids ever said at 2! However, she is also just the funniest, sweetest, happiest little girl and we love her!
